Choosing a court

Which city court suits you?

After work on a weeknight

Sydney Boys High School in Surry Hills stays open until 11pm Monday to Friday, the latest of any venue on this page, and has free parking on site. Its four Plexicushion hard courts are finished in Australian Open blue and play fast and true.

Rushcutters Bay and Trumper Park both run lights until 10pm Monday to Thursday. Rushcutters closes at 9pm Friday to Sunday.

Early morning before the office

Trumper Park and Cooper Park open at 6am every day. Trumper Park's lights don't run from 6 to 7am, so in winter the first hour can be dark.

Cheapest hire

Rushcutters Bay is $30.30 an hour on weekdays before 5pm. In the evening, Sydney Boys High School's flat $32 an hour is the best value.

Hard court or synthetic grass?

Sydney Boys High is the only hard-court venue here. The other four are synthetic grass: a lower bounce, easier on the knees, and more forgiving if you're coming back to tennis after a break.
